Wreck This Journal - Oh, yeah!

Photobucket

Wow, I can't believe we are now at the end of the Wreck This Journal journey! It's come a long way season week 1 (I almost said Season 1... I've been watching a lot of TV). and I can certainly say mine has trekked and wrecked and been wrecked a lot! I had a lot of fun wrecking when I was visiting Suzie recently and I brought my journal to a trip out to Peggys cove (Suzie's got pics of that here, plus see below). I rubbed it on a rock, shoved it between rocks and even dunked it in a mini pond of ocean-y water ... but then it was super soaked and salty-smelly! It needed to dry out and after leaving it outside not working, an oven on low heat was what finally made it work. After all that I sealed it up and mailed it home to Toronto. I made it back before the journal!

It's been really fun to wreck and play along. One thing that I've really enjoyed using it for has been to track the progress of So You Think You Can Dance Season 5. Normally I have a hard time remembering everyone but this time I documented all the shows starting from top 20 while watching with Jamie and it helped so much. Even though we close out the collective journey today I think my journal wants to keep with me for at least one more week just for that.

Y'know what is one of the craziest things about the process? I could *never* find the fruit sticker page when I wanted to! Never! hehe.

Here's to wrecking goodness! I can't believe it used to look like this only 2 months ago!

This week, at Wreck This Journal

Oh I've not been as diligent about posting the wreckage as I thought I would be. Oopsie! But there has been wreckage and I think I can really go a lot further. We'll see what happens this week but here is the current state of some of the mini adventures the book has had:

Photobucket
Still working on breaking the spine. I've tried - really!

Photobucket
I really like gluing random things

Photobucket
And gluing white things

Photobucket
I always have new grocery lists and bills. I'm not sure which it's suppose to be but I'm going with both!

Photobucket
I almost completely detest this page. I love the all over colour idea but I don't like how it turned out. I guess I could always colour over it again!

Photobucket
Doing the circle page was one of my faves. So much so that I did both open face pages and gave one away! I tried to be sneeky and elf like but she found it rather quickly that smart woman! heheh! Fun!

Wreck This Journal: Week 2!

Photobucket

One of the surprizing things about the process of going through Wreck This Journal is that some of the instructions (suggestions? recommendations?) are like OH! I can do that. So it is fun and easy and goofy delight. Then I get to the space where I'm like.. oh yea, I can do this no problem! Thena new one will come along and I'm like... yikes.. I ah, dunno, if I can do that! Taking my journal for a walk was one of them. But I did it!

Another great way to stretch is to take a break and let someone else play. If they can do it - I bet you can to!!

Wreck This Journal - Begins!

The Next Chapter, a book blogging group begins today and out book this time is Wreck this Journal. And what better way to start the journey then by throwing my copy from a rooftop! Talk about starting off with a bang, or a tumble...

There was some great resistance to post this without downloading the before & after pics to go with it and make it all perfect and stuff but I want to share now now now NOW NOW! So I am, because there is something about the project that speaks to a very "Do it!" nature. Thanks to Jamie for taking the video, and of course to leading us through this journey.

Ok, I suck and succumbed to add the pic of where it landed below. But at least I admit it! Enjoy the journey.

Who is that under my deck chair?

Photobucket

Unexpected visitor on the deck today. I've seen lots of cats recently but certainly wasn't expecting to have a raccoon nestled up sleeping on my deck chair in the middle of the afternoon. When I first tried to go outside it skirted away but then decided to lounge under the chair. I successfully left and returned, but was lil leery about freaking out the furry creature. Hours later and it's still hanging out in the same very spot. Oh my, every day is an adventure
