Film Fan Fridays for Friday September 29th, 2006!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!!!

More migrated films from the Toronto International Film Festival this week, including our 2 Canadian releases The Journals of Knud Rasmussen and Manufactured Landscapes as well as The U.S. vs. John Lennon. I will admit that I was sorry to have missed Manufactured Landscapes I’ve heard that it is absolutely amazing in its depiction of showing photographer Edward Burtynsky work of showing industrial images as beautiful landscapes. I am very thankful it is showing in the theatre, now I get a second chance!

There appears to be something for everyone this week with our 8 releases! Canadiana:
The Journals of Knud Rasmussen and Manufactured Landscapes (and documentary), animated: Open Season, Hollywood: The Guardian, School for Scoundrels, British comedy: Keeping Mum, documentary: The U.S. vs. John Lennon. I love it when there are so many choices, I might even have to get out to more than 1 this week!

Have a great weekend!!

I wonder what the heck the documentary about the U.S. and John Lennon's about? I really loved John Lennon.

Some of those films look really good. I really want to see Keeping Mum, which was released ages ago here in the UK and I never got a chance to see it. The director (Niall Johnson) is also a good friend of my family's. You'd think that would mean I'd get a free DVD of it or something, but no.
