Film Fan Fridays for Friday September 22nd, 2006!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!!!

The migration begins! Three of our releases are hot of the tails of the Toronto International Film Festival: All the King's Men, Confetti and Tales of Rat Fink. I admit, I have to laugh every time I hear the voice over for Jet Li's Fearless being billed as "Jet Li's final martial arts epic", so does this mean he will make more martial arts films, and more epic films but not a combination? Maybe I'm being too cynical and they really mean its his last film.

It is a very full week of releases with a total of 9 (!) films, it is hard to tell if the reason there are so many limited releases is being due to the sheer volume of releases or another reason entirely. There are a few that have caught my eye, surprizing one is Flyboys set in WWI starring Jean Reno and James Franco (Harry Osborn in Spiderman, which I had to look up after seeing the preview). I wonder if they considered the connection with "In Living Color"'s Flygirl's when they came up with the title. I'd also like to check out Jet Li's Fearless - just in case it is his last, All the Kings Men, Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles, and A Sunday in Kigali. How about you? What is on your list?

Have a great weekend!!

.....sneeky sneeky...... sneak preview:
School for Scoundrels starring Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder, directed by Todd Phillips (Road Trip, Old School) has a sneak preview at Paramount, Silver City Yonge & Eglinton, Eglinton Town Centre, Kennedy Commons and various other theatres on Saturday Sept 29, 2006 at 7pm.

They keep saying All The King's Men is based on a true story but I want to know who the heck it's about?!

Thank you so much for the heads up on the Jet Li movie, R's been dying to go see this. I don't know if we'll make it this weekend but hopefully next. Now we know it's actually out! We were looking everywhere for it, LOL.

I'm a sucker for Jet Li movies too, I know I will see it but for some reason I'm not convinced it will be his last.

I've no idea what All The King's Men is about, all I know is Sean Penn is in it, and its Americana.
