Film Fan Fridays for Friday July 14, 2006!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!!!

Wow, what a mixed bag this week. Two comedies of slightly different appeals with Little Man and You, Me and Dupree. Whenever I hear the title I think of Dupris, not Dupree. Is Dupree even a name? Anyhoo... We also have Peaceful Warrior based on the book "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman. I saw the trailer and I would have to say it looks interesting, although the trailer gave away way too much. I still might give it a go. Last but not least is the second environmentally oriented documentary in the past little while with Who Killed the Electric Car. Looks cute & informative.

Peeve of the Week: Cell phones and the people who use them in theatres. Specifically the guy who was on his cell phone during An Inconvenient Truth and said (loudly) "I'm outside the movie theatre...". You ain't buddy, you are inside, and yes, you were snickered at. He left 2x to use the phone as well as RAN up the aisle as if in some kind of crisis only to return 5 min later returned with popcorn. sheesh.

Irony of the week: An InconvenientTruth, a film about awareness of global warming and the climate crisis had not one, but two commercials for cars shown before the previews.

Have a great weekend!!
