Film Fan Fridays for Friday May 19, 2006!!!

Hello Film Fans and Fanatics!!

A wide variety of releases this week to choose from! Will it be the hyped up mystery thriller book-to-film release of The Da Vinci Code? The animated animals of Over the Hedge? The critically acclaimed French film La Petite Jerusalem? Teen slasher flick starring wrestler by adult film director See No Evil (scary combo there...). I think for me I'm gonna bet on the South Korean flick by Oldboy director Park Chan-wook and try to get out to see Lady Vengeance / Chinjeolhan geumjassi. It looks beautiful, although sounds a little heavy on the violence. We shall see.

Festival Watch:
Inside Out Lesbian and Gay Film and Video Festival runs May 18 - 28, 2006, Toronto
Gotta say, I love the print ad's for Inside Out this year with the tagline something along the lines of 'film lovers festival' and all these couples making out in a theatre, its totally cute.

Have a great weekend!

Shannon

Shannon, are you going to see DaVinci? Have you heard anything about Art School? I heard it was the same guy who did Ghost World and I liked that movie. We're going to The Poseidon Adventure tomorrow night! We're really going to a movie! Yippee!

I will probably see Da Vinci but I want to read the book first so its probably a leave til later kinda deal. I haven't heard anything about Art School Confidential but I didn't enjoy Ghost World and was unimpressed with the poster so I'm not sure about that one.

Enjoy Poseidon, yay for going to the movies!!!

Thanks for your comments Shannon! I wasn't sure about DaVinci, kinda tired of hearing about Jesus but apparently it's pretty pagan which is very cool.

I'm beginning to feel that Art School Cfdl is more like a Scary Movie-joke movie than having anything real to say.

We're going to the movie tonight! Woohoo!
